Day 03 Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram

The full day tour of Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram. The ancient capital of Pallavas, Kanchipuram is the famous temple city of Tamil Nadu. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are the other famous temples. Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks. Mahabalipuram famous for the seven pagodas and the rock cut monolithic temples, is the World Heritage Site in India. In the evening board a train for Trichy from the railway station.

Day 04 Trichy/Tiruchirapalli

Morning arrive at Trichy and get transferred to the hotel. Afternoon tour of Trichy/Tiruchiraplli. In 18th century, Trichy; the citadel of the Chola dynasty has witnessed the Carnatic wars fought between the French and the English. The tourist places in Trichy include Lord Robert Clive’s house, Danish Church, Rock-Fort and the ancient temple of Ganapati and Shiva temple. Overnight stay at Trichy.

Day 05 Tanjore

Drive towards Madurai visiting Tanjore enroute. Your South India holiday is incomplete without visiting the principal landmarks at Tanjore, the beautiful Chola Temple of Brihadeshwara believed to be equally competent with the Egyptian pyramids. The bronze work and handicraft works in Tanjore make it one of the highlights of South India tour. Overnight stay at Madurai.

Day 06 Madurai

Morning tour of the renowned Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams, the gigantic doorways, characteristic of the Dravidian temple architecture. Visit the Indo Saracenic style Tirumala Nayak Palace – famous for the Stuccowork on its domes and arches. After being at the Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple; your afternoon is free for independent activities. Overnight stay at Madurai.

Day 07 Periyar

Morning drive takes you to Periyar National Park surrounded by high mountain peaks and the Western Ghats. Enjoy the boating in the large Periyar Lake whether on a simple boat or a motorboat. You can see the animals like elephants, wild boar, sambhar, tiger, leopard, wild dog, langur monkeys etc. Overnight stay at Periyar.

Day 08 Cochin/Kochi

Drive to Cochin/Kochi. Complete fun filled vacation for you. Overnight stay at Cochin/Kochi.

Day 09 Cochin/Kochi

Morning tour of Cochin/Kochi. Created by the Malabar mud banks, Cochin is the natural harbour which got the recognition due to the Vasco-de-Gama who was the first American to step in India. The main tourist attractions at Cochin/Kochi are Jewish Synagogue, Portuguese Churches, Mosques, Hindu Temples and the Chinese Fishing Nets. Afternoon is free for shopping. Overnight stay at Cochin.

Day 10 Bangalore

Board a flight for Bangalore from Cochin airport. Arrive at Bangalore and drive towards Mysore. Overnight stay at Mysore.

Day 11 Belur-Halebid

Spend the full day in excursions to Belur and Halebid. Visit the epitome of Hoysala art; the Chenna Kesava temple built 900 years ago. The Hindu Art temples in Halebid built in the 12th century, Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temples, are the real master pieces. Visit Sravanbelgola, an important Jain pilgrimage destination of India on your return journey to see the statue of Lord Gomateshwara, the largest statue in India. Overnight stay at Mysore.

Day 12 Mysore

Start the morning tour with the visit to the Mysore Palace built in 1911 – 1912. A masterpiece of the Hindu and Saracenic styles of architecture with archways, domes, turrets, colonnades and sculptures. Day 13 Chennai/Madras
